Holmes Norton scammed in her home by fake cleaning crew, police say

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D.D.C.) was defrauded by a group claiming to be sanitation workers on Thursday, according to authorities.

Multiple people are reportedly claiming to be HVAC employees visited the representative’s house And managed to charge his credit card. Local outlets reported that the case was being investigated as gross fraud.

“Upon notifying her home manager, who reviewed the Ring doorbell footage and confirmed that no such appointment was scheduled, the incident was immediately reported to police.”

Norton’s office did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
