In the final match of one of WWE’s best rivalries, Cena defeated AJ Styles in Perth, Australia.
Cena and Styles adopted all the tricks for this. Cena performed finishers on several WWE Superstars – the RKO (Randy Orton), the Skull Crushing Finale (The Miz) and the Tombstone (The Undertaker). Styles pays tribute to Shawn Michaels with Sweet Chin Music.
In the end, Cena was victorious in a match that led to the crowd chanting “Thank you, Cena” and an embrace between the two superstars in the ring. Undertaker also posted his approval for the fight.

Wrestlepalooza – September 20
Cena was to face his old rival Brock Lesnar on Saturday night. Although Cena hit three AAs early on, Lesnar was too much for him. However, the crowd applauded Cena’s efforts, and it’s possible he’ll get another shot at Lesnar in his remaining five matches before it’s all said and done.

WWE Clash in Paris – September 1st
Cena made the most of his final European match by defeating Logan Paul in a tight matchup. Paris crowd welcomed Cena electrical rendering their theme songs and five knuckle shuffle,
Cena used all the moves, even performing a Styles Clash on Paul. After his final attitude adjustment he fell and pinned Paul for the win.

WWE SummerSlam – August 3
After recovering for just five months before SummerSlam, Cena became a baby face again, and ran with his classic entrance before facing Cody Rhodes in a street fight.

What followed was an epic match that lasted 30 minutes and ended with Rhodes defeating Cena to win the WWE Championship, ending Cena’s reign that began at WrestleMania 41 in April.
Just before Rhodes delivered his finishing move and pinned Cena to win, he saluted the great wrestler in a memorable match. After the game, when Cena raised Rhodes’ hand, the two hugged in the ring.

Facing one of the biggest rivals of his career, Cena defeated CM Punk in a chaotic match featuring multiple interruptions and a knockout by referee.
The first time this happened, Punk called a new referee from behind to bring out Money in the Bank winner Seth Rollins. Rollins came to the ring with Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed, who threw Punk into the announce table. Rollins then stood in the ring and called the referee so he could cash in his briefcase.
However, as the new referee ran to the ring, Cena knocked him down, leading to a face-off between the champion and Rollins.

Teaming with Logan Paul against Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes, Cena dominated early on – but an in-ring conflict with Paul resulted in Rhodes and Uso returning to the match.

Here’s how it all happened – Cena faced off against Cody Rhodes for a chance to become the undisputed WWE Champion.

John Cena made it clear that he is done playing the hero on Monday Night Raw in Belgium. The WWE icon fully acknowledged his shocking heel turn with a venomous comment aimed directly at fans.

In his final WWE Elimination Chamber match, Cena and longtime rival CM Punk were the last two wrestlers left. Cena won over Punk, winning his record-tying fourth Chamber match and punching his ticket to WrestleMania 41.

Later, when Cody Rhodes rejected The Rock’s offer for his soul, Cena retreated and severely beat Rhodes after initially shaking his hand and hugging him. As a result of winning the Elimination Chamber match, Cena would challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.

His final Royal Rumble loss – February 1
It looked like Cena was going to win his third Royal Rumble, with the only thing standing in his way was Jey Uso. However, Uso rallied and eliminated Cena from the ring, shocking the wrestling world.

Cena shared that Monday Night Raw’s first show of the year would be his final WWE appearance in the City of Angels.
After thanking Los Angeles – and specifically Inglewood – he made an announcement stating that he wanted to capture his 17th World Championship – breaking his tie with Ric Flair for most in WWE history.
While considering options for how he could achieve that goal, Cena decided to go to the Royal Rumble before announcing that he would win it.
The Royal Rumble takes place on February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
