The first-round pick was ejected late in the fourth quarter.

“Yeah, it’s unfortunate,” coach Brian Daboll said. “Unfortunately, he got hurt.”

The veterans realized that something was wrong between the quarters. Dart went into the blue medical tent, and eventually his helmet was removed and placed to the side.

“So, with Dart it was going back on the field, it didn’t feel right. So called the trainers and said, ‘Let’s take him out and make sure he gets attention,'” Daboll said. “So, he went in and was seen, evaluated for concussion.”

Daboll later added “someone said something” to the side indicating that the dart was not correct.

His companions could not see anything in the crowd. It wasn’t until Wilson started taking snaps on the sideline with the backup center that he realized Dart was potentially leaving the game. Austin Schlottman,

“I don’t remember what the stop was. But Austin went to take pictures with Russ and we saw the blue tent above, and we assumed, like, OK, I guess something must have happened to Jackson at some point,” Guard greg van roten Said. “And, you know, he was out. And that was it.”

Darts were replaced in the game Russell WilsonJoe completed 3 of 7 passing for 45 yards and rushed twice for 12 yards. The Giants led 20–10 during the fourth quarter, but were unable to stop the Bears’ rally.

“We’ve got to find a way to get down there,” Wilson said.

The Giants trailed three times on the ensuing possession with Wilson at quarterback and held on in the final minutes with a chance to win the game. It was their franchise-record 11th consecutive loss and their fourth loss when leading by double digits this season. They are the second team since the 1970 merger to lose multiple games in a season after leading by 10+ points in the final four minutes of the fourth quarter, joined only by the 2004 Seahawks.

Daboll did not directly answer a question afterward about whether Wilson would start next week against green Bay Packers If unable to play darts. Giants also have experienced jameis winston On the roster.

Wilson said he began preparing to enter the game after seeing the dart slowly rise after the rumble.

Wilson said, “He made a great effort trying to make a play. He did a good job trying to be tough.” “I was just ready. You always have to be ready to go.”

Before leaving, Dart was 19 of 29 passing for 242 yards and 66 rushing yards on six carries with a pair of scores. He became the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to record rushing touchdowns in five consecutive games.

But all the hits are starting to add up. Dart had the second-most contacts of any quarterback since becoming the starter in Week 4, taking an average of nearly 13 hits per contest. In addition to the general flow of the game, the Giants have called several designed quarterback runs over the past few weeks. However, Darts had slipped on several occasions before suffering the injury on Sunday.

This is the fourth time Dart has been evaluated for an injury this year, including the preseason.

“I’ll just say it’s unfortunate he got hurt,” Daboll said of the idea that his quarterback was taking too many hits.

The Giants have talked about not taking away Dart’s aggression for several weeks. This is part of what makes it effective.

Dart was asked last week about balancing the desire to win with smart play. This is something he is still working on.

“Maybe a little bit. It’s definitely something that when you look back at the tape, you try to think about moments where you could have saved your body, whether hit or not,” he said. “At the same time, it’s really hard for me in those moments because I just want to compete. Ultimately, I just want to score.”

He later said: “I’ll play the game the way I want to play it.”

Dart has become an instant sensation since taking over as the starter in Week 4. He has scored a total of 17 touchdowns in his seven starts.

The Giants are 2-5 in those contests.
