The new result of the Lumina Foundation-Gallop Education Survey on Wednesday suggests that confidence in higher education has increased for the first time in a decade during the turbulent time for the region.
Public confidence in higher education institutions has increased by 42 percent, above 36 percent in 2024 and 2023. The level of confidence has been on a decline since the recorded 57 percent in 2015.
People who did not believe in higher education from 32 percent to 2025 last year from 32 percent to 23 percent. Faith between black and Hispanic individuals is 49 percent from the national average and above 50 percent.
Both Democrats and Independent Republicans have much more confidence in higher education than Republican. Sixty percent of Democrats are confident in higher education, 40 percent express confidence in independent higher education, and only 26 percent of Republican expresses confidence in higher education.
Republican politicians have long criticized educational institutions for liberal bias, as conservative in media. Such criticisms increased in many universities across the country amidst anti -Palestinian protests.
“Broadly, American who are confident in higher education, cite the benefits of knowledge for young people, provides training, the quality of American higher education and opportunities providing graduates,” Galp wrote.
“Most people who are not convinced in higher education mention political stance or agenda, are not preparing students well for the college workforce, and the cost of the college is as reasons for their idea,” it said.
This is utteric as higher education is pummailed by the Trump administration, with dozens of investigations and collectively taken from institutions such as Harvard, Columbia and Pennsylvania University.
