The French Foreign Ministry shot back the state secretary Marco Rubio, when he accused France of the Israel-we ceasefire talks, recognizing the Palestinian kingdom in late July.

This post was followed by several others, including one which was a screenshot of a post timestamp at 3:54 pm on July 24, in which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote about the negotiation of the unsuccessful Gaza Shanti deal. A subsequent post showed a screenshot of a post from the same day, which was local time at 9:16 pm in which French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned the recognition of a Palestinian kingdom.

The pushback of the French Foreign Ministry marks the latest in the increasing stress arising out of the move. Rubio has earlier condemned France’s decision, called it “careless”.

Rubio doubled his criticism of France’s decision to recognize Palestine in comments earlier this week.
