Bobby Genx, for two-Star Pitcher Chicago white soxWhen the franchise won the 2005 World Series, who was in the roster, died in Sintra, Portugal on Friday, the team announced.
Genx, 44, who was battling Adenocarcinoma, a form of stomach cancer, spent six seasons with white sox from 2005-10, and also played for it Boston red sox in 2011. All said, the reliever finished its major league career with 3.53 ERA and 173 Save at 16-20.
“We have lost a prestigious member of the White Sox family today,” Jerry Rindorf said in a statement, White Sox President. “None of us will ever forget the ninth innings of Game 4 in Houston, which Bobby had done for the 2005 world series Champion and during his time in Chicago for the entire Sox organization. He and his family knew that cancer would be his most difficult battle, and he would miss a special place in all our hearts.”
After Jenx moved to Portugal last year, he was found out in his right calf. It eventually spread to blood clots in its lungs, inspiring further testing. He later came to know of adenocarcinoma, and began to go through radiation.

In 2005, as White Socks ended the 88 -year drought route for the title, Genx appeared in the six Postsen Games. Chicago proceeded 11–1 in the playoffs, and he saved the series-clining win in Boston’s Game 3, and against the World Series’s Game 4 Houston Astros,
“You play for the love of the game, it’s happiness,” Jenx said in his final interview with Sotxv last year. “This is what I like to do. I (a) was playing to become a world champion, and that is what I wanted to do since I picked up a baseball.”
Mission Hills, a native of California, appeared in 19 games for Genx Red Socks, and was originally drafts by the then Annim Angels in the fifth round of the 2000 draft.
Genux survived his wife, Eleni Tzitzivacos, his two children, Zeno and Kate, and his four children, a pre -wedding, earning, nolan, Rilan and Jackson.
