Ford has issued a recall notice for more than 291,000 vehicles over a potential issue with the rearview camera, causing the image to display improperly in certain lighting conditions.
The recall notice says a problem with the 360-degree view camera system could reduce the driver’s view behind the car, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall affects 2020-2022 F-250 SD, F-350 SD and F-450 SD vehicles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said letters informing vehicle owners of the recall are expected to be sent on Monday. According to the notice, another letter will be sent after the final measures are ready, which is expected to be in March.
Dealers will update the Image Processing Module software free of charge when available.
The Ford recall number is 25SA8.
