Blockchain-based lending company Figure Technology confirmed that it has experienced a data breach.
on friday, Shape Spokeswoman Alethea Zadick told TechCrunch in a statement that the breach arose when an employee was tricked with a social engineering attack that allowed hackers to steal a “limited number of files.”
The statement said the company “stands with partners and those affected” and is offering free credit monitoring “to all individuals who received notices.”
A spokesperson for Figures did not answer a series of specific questions about the breach.
