Washington, DC, police arrested a person on Sunday Local cathedral A high-profile red mass.
The MPD said, “Members of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) assigned an detail for the red mass in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, which a person installed a tent on the steps of the cathedral,” said MPD. Sunday details,
“Officials determined that the person was first stopped from the premises of the Cathedral. The person refused to vacate the premises and was placed under the arrest without any incident,” the statement continued.
According to MPD, the authorities arrested the suspect and saw the “several suspicious objects” in the tent, including potential fireworks and liquid -filled vials. MPD also said that public safety was not threatened, the scene was “secured”.
Police described the suspect as 41 -year -old Louisi Gery from Winland, NJ, now facing allegations of illegal entry, threatening to kidnap or injure a person, and is in possession of a Molotov cocktail.
According to John Carroll Society, a local Catholic organization has been among its attendees in the past.
“Red Mass is celebrated at the Cathedral of the annual St. Matthew The Appostal, traditionally on Sunday before the first Monday in October, which reflects the inauguration of the annual tenure of the Supreme Court,” Details on Reads the Cathedral website.
