“While subscriber additions accelerated meaningfully at the start of the year, January and February will be our biggest months for new subscribers in our history,” the company wrote in a blog post. “People use ChatGPT to learn, write, plan, and create. As usage scales, the product improves in ways people immediately realize: faster responses, higher reliability, stronger security, and more consistent performance.”
The figure represents a jump of 100 million users 800 million OpenAI reported in October 2025.
