Tampa, Florida– tampa bay buccaneers All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs Thursday offered his thoughts on the viral video of his awkward conversation with quarterback Baker Mayfield. Seattle Seahawks The fan said last Sunday that he thinks Heckler needs to step up his game to match his Pro Bowl quarterback.
Wirfs, who was standing next to Mayfield when the fan began trying to provoke him, said his intention was simply to ignore him. Wirfs thinks he was also from Mayfield.
,[Baker] At first I wasn’t saying anything, so I thought I wouldn’t say anything,” said Wirfs, who just smiled.
That’s when Mayfield clapped back, saying, “You’re going to be really quiet at halftime. You’re a f—ing p—y.”
Wirfs said he had been alerted to the heckler – which increased his expectations about what such a conversation might lead to. But ultimately he was disappointed with the level of competition.
“I think a friend of the guy’s won the lottery and bought season tickets to the Seahawks. So, he said, ‘Hey there’s got to be a guy like that,'” Wirfs said. “And he was having none of it. Like his stuff was f—ing s—. Forgive my language, but it was brutal. Like if you’re going to be a heckler, you’ve got to step up your game. And Beck just told him that, and it was great. It was great. I was just laughing, like, ‘You’re just stabbing a bear.'”

Wirfs saw the Bears coming out of hibernation, as Mayfield had not been featured in any such incidents in his three years with the Buccaneers.
As far as his quarterbacking performance, Mayfield also threw two touchdowns at running back Ratched Whitetwo scores on the field in one 38-35 Victory. Mayfield recorded the second-highest completion percentage of his career at 87.9% – the highest of any NFL quarterback so far this season and a franchise record for a Bucs quarterback with 30 or more pass attempts.
Asked if other fans should avoid annoying Mayfield, Wirfs said: “I don’t know. I mean, they can try. It’s part of the game. This guy wasn’t very good at it. It’s his whole game. It’s his whole MO. He just sucked it up.”
