Browns’ Hickman assaulted in NYC, treated for minor injuries

The Browns said in a statement that Hickman, 24, “was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital following the incident, was later released, and is resting at home with his family.”

According to a statement from the New York Police Department, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said they responded to a 911 call at 4:35 a.m. ET Monday reporting an attack in a hotel lobby.

“Upon arrival, officers were informed that four unknown individuals had punched a 24-year-old male in the body following a verbal altercation,” police said. “The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.”

Hickman, a New Jersey native, recently completed his third season in the NFL. He started all 17 games for the Browns, recording career highs in tackles (103), pass deflections (seven) and interceptions (two). He is an impending restricted free agent this offseason.
