Researcher of counseling firm Betterup LabsIn collaboration with Stanford Social Media Lab, a new word is coined to describe a low quality, AI-borne task: “Workslop.”
As defined in an article Published this week in Harvard Business ReviewWorkslop “AI is the work material that is in good work, but lacks substance to pursue a given work.”
Betterup labs researchers suggest that the worklop may be an explanation for 95% of the organizations who have tried AI but report Viewing zero returns on that investmentWorkcalap, they write, “unexpected, incomplete, or missing significant references”, which works more for all the rest.
“The hypocritical effect of the worker is that it carries the workload downwards, the receiver needs to interpret the work, correct or again,” they write.
Researchers also held a Ongoing survey 1,150 full-time, among the US-based employees, 40% of the respondents stated that they had received a workslop in the previous month.
To avoid this, researchers say that the leaders of the workplace should “use thoughtful AI uses, the purpose and intention” and “set clear railing for their teams around norms and acceptable use.”
