After missing more than two months due to a turf toe injury that required surgery, Burrow threw two touchdown passes. win 32-14 at M&T Bank Stadium. It was the culmination of a long and difficult rehabilitation process that began in September.

And during the game, Burrow had plenty of opportunities to test his surgically repaired big toe.
According to Next Gen Stats, he had eight throws. In efforts where he was moving at 8 mph or more, he had six completions for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Burrow also made six attempts outside the pocket. Early in the game, Burrow scrambled to his left and tried to find Iosivas in the end zone. While the pass was incomplete, Burrow said it showed him he could pass better than he expected entering Thursday night.
“Honestly, I was a little more mobile than I expected, so it felt good,” Burrow said. “We’ve got a good system of changing shoes and doing what we need to do to stay fresh, so we’ll continue to do that.”
After the game, Burrow was in a reflective mood. He paused for several moments to answer questions about his recovery process from the toe injury that derailed a promising season. Chase said, if Burrow was feeling any additional emotion during the week, he may have hidden it.
But there was no denying what Burrow felt after the win.
,[It] It hasn’t been easy for me from a lot of different angles over the six years, but I’ve worked really hard to put myself in a position to get back there,” Burrow said. “And a lot of people around me have done the same.
“There were a lot of discussions in the training room and a lot of time and a lot went into it. And I’m proud to be back.”
