Conservative media pundits Ben Shapiro and Megyn Kelly got into an argument this week over an interview with Tucker Carlson. conducted with White nationalist Nick Fuentes – and other comments Carlson has made on his online podcast.
“If I see someone violating basic moral values by being a Nazi, in my own view, I defame a Nazi, so I’m going to speak out about it,” Shapiro told Kelly during a live event.
“I want to point out that he has a long pattern of promoting ideologically terrible ideas over the past two years, including traveling to Russia to smell the bread and talking about why the Russian regime is actually wonderful, to saying last week that Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuelan regime is actually not that bad…,” he said in comments. Kelly responded by saying that he had no interest in being Carlson’s “protector”, but said that Maduro is “culturally conservative”.
“Who gives a s—,” Shapiro responded. “I don’t doubt whether he’s anti-LGBTQ. That’s the number one thing about Nicolas Maduro? Do you know how far down the list you have to go before you get to anything remotely recommended about Nicolas Maduro?”
