Apple sets June date for WWDC 2026, teasing “AI advancements”

Apple’s next Worldwide Developers Conference will be held online and at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, from June 8 to June 12. announced on monday.

The iPhone maker said this year’s conference — at which it typically announces new software and features across its line of devices — will focus on updates to platforms like iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, and new software and developer tools, as well as “AI advancements.”

Last year, Apple focused WWDC on its “liquid glass” interface design, with AI largely not mentioned. This conference will probably be different. This year’s WWDC may finally showcase a revamped Siri with better personal context and on-screen awareness.

The company announced Apple’s Foundation Model Framework with AI models that can work offline at last year’s conference, and announced advancements during this year’s event. Like the model the company also brought ChatGPT for coding on Xcode. Earlier this year, the company introduced agentic coding tools like Anthropic’s Cloud Agent and OpenAI’s Codex to Xcode.
