AP men’s college basketball Top 25 poll breakdown

Arizona and Miami (OH) remained undefeated entering this week following the release of the new AP Top 25 Poll. Only four teams’ rankings remained unchanged.

The Wildcats remain the consensus No. 1 seed for the third consecutive week. They are followed by Michigan, which moves up to No. 2 with UConn. Two teams remain in the top five in the Big Ten, with Illinois replacing Nebraska as the last team standing after losing two consecutive games last week. However, the Cornhuskers remain in the top 10, slipping only four spots.

The biggest jump in the survey came from the Fighting Illini (four spots), with Kansas, Vanderbilt and St. John’s moving up three spots in the rankings. Miami (OH) moved up one spot, while fellow mid-major St. Louis moved up two spots.

Arkansas ranked last in the survey, falling six places. Alabama dropped out entirely, clearing the way for Tennessee to re-enter the top 25. Other teams falling down in the rankings include Louisville and the aforementioned Cornhuskers (four spots), as well as BYU and Michigan State (three).

Below are the complete Top 25 rankings, including what’s next for each team this week.
