Scheduled Tribes. Charles, Mo.Ktvi) – An apple airtag on a stolen motorcycle in St. Charles, Missouri helped the police track two suspects earlier this week.
St. Charles County Prosecution Office of the Attorney Office of David A. Hallstad, 37, and Sean A. Philips, 32, is accused with a count of a hooliganism of stealing a motor vehicle in relation to the case with each.
Hallstad and Philips are accused of stealing a motorcycle on Tuesday morning from the St. Charles Apartment Complex.
According to the possible reason statements received by Nexstar’s Fox 2, the pair reached the campus in a Blue Hyundai Santa FE vehicle and targeted the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle. Hallstad allegedly exposed the motorcycle, damaging the ignition and eventually used a screwdriver to start and steal it.
Investigators say Halstead first sent the motorcycle to Elton, Illinois, while Philips chased in Hyundai. Hallstad allegedly noticed an airtag, then left it in 1600 blocks of the annex drive.
Later, investigators reviewed the monitoring video, which caught the suspects arriving at the apartment premises in Hyundai, helping the authorities identify Hyundai’s license plate. Using video and airtag data, the police eventually tracked halstead and Philips to Wood River, Illinois.
The Wood River Police then saw the stolen motorcycle, still influenced their Missouri license plate, and arrested the two suspects.
Hallstad and Philips were booked in jail on a cash-bond of $ 30,000 and ordered with each other, not to contact the motorcycle owner or the target with St. Charles Apartment Complex.
