Airbnb’s testing a ‘kitchen stocking’ service that lets guests place Instacart orders before their stay

Airbnb is piloting a service with Instacart that will allow guests to order groceries directly through the Airbnb app before and during their stay. bloomberg Report.

According to an email sent to hosts, Airbnb will offer the “kitchen stocking” service during a three-month pilot program starting on January 5, the report said.

The report says the new service will be available to select hosts with listings available in Phoenix, Orlando, and Los Angeles.

If hosts receive their guests’ pre-orders and delete them before check-in, they’ll receive $25. They will also receive a $100 bonus for their first completed order. Guests will be able to order Instacart from the Airbnb app up to three weeks before their stay.

New partnership with Instacart marks latest addition Airbnb’s “Services,” which launched in May and allows guests to book services and experiences like massages, haircuts or chef-prepared meals. Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky has said the services will help the company add $1 billion or more in annual revenue.

Airbnb did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
