Officials said on Saturday that four people have died after heavy rains in Arizona, some people in a rural community have been sent to their roofs for security.
Emergency manager in Gila County, Karl Melford, East of Phoenix, about 88 miles (142 km) east of about 7,250 people died after rain in the city. He said that two people were found in a vehicle and in another flood water, he said. He was not immediately identified by the authorities.
Another person was found dead on Saturday morning near a vehicle caught in flood waters in suburban Phoenix. The Scotsdel Fire Department stated that the vehicle appeared empty, when it was seen partially immersed in the growing water, about 8 feet in the Greenbelt Park area on Friday evening, the Scotsdel Fire Department said. The department said that after the water fell overnight, the crew found that a person’s body was pinned under a walkway bridge.
In the rural community of the globe, one of the oldest mining cities in Arizona, Sheriff officials are looking at the reports of those who may go missing, the MELFORD said, but cannot specify a number.
“Now we have a massive search and rescue,” he said.
The rain fell down and quickly flooded the city area on Friday, said by MELFORD. One of the first areas of the hit was a propane tank distributor, sending around 1,000 residential size tanks throughout the community, he said.
He said, “There are propane tanks everywhere through the downtown globe,” he said that Hazmat workers have been sent to the scene. “Fortunately none of them ignited or exploded.”
The region had previously experienced floods in 2021 after a forest fire, but it did not happen, thus, Melford said.
“It was very heavy rain in a very short time,” he said.
Officials are asking residents not to go out to search in flood waters because the search and rescue officers are with dogs who can smell the aspirations of volunteers rather than potentially flood victims. If people want to help, they should start by assisting in the needs of friends and neighbors, the MELFORD said.
Members of the Globe City Council announced the Emergency, saying that they have not seen anything like floods.
Mayor Al Gumroo said that the score of the people has stepped into a steps for the volunteer, saying that many buildings in the city city have been damaged. The authorities asked people to stay away from the area until they could ensure that it is safe to go there.
“Our primary, again, discovery and rescue,” said on Saturday.
