san francisco 49ers travel to pick up philadelphia eagles On Sunday, a great coaching matchup was set up between 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Additionally, we’ll see an Eagles offense that is still looking for a sense of consistent rhythm, but also has a unit of explosive playmakers.
Matt Bowen breaks it down and offers his opinions, and Liz Loza, Pamela Maldonado and Eric Moody share their best bets, analysis and DFS plays to help you get in on the action.

when the 49ers have the ball
Bowen: 49ers quarterback brock purdy The Eagles will have defined reads against split-safety coverages. This adds play-action throws to Shanahan’s game plan, as well as concepts designed to stretch defenses and create spaces in the middle of the field. Christian McCaffrey The Vols will also be viewed as a dual-threat option, and I like this run game matchup.
Edge: eagles
Best Bets: McCaffrey over 57.5 rushing yards (-111). McCaffrey has topped the 70-yard rushing mark in five of his last seven games, with 20 or more carries in five of his last six. And the Eagles’ defense has allowed an average of 141.2 rush yards per game over their last six games.
when the eagles have the ball
Bowen: Philly looks to establish a run game identity Saquon BarkleyThe Eagles need more movement from the offensive front here, Also, they will try to get their shots down the field aj brown And devonta smithWhile they can use isolation throws from the slot and boundary alignment jalen hurts Gotta make some plays outside the pocket.
Edge: 49ers
Best Bets: Brown averaged 5.5 receptions (-105). Brown has had at least six receptions in three of his last five games. He’ll get volume on slants and unders compared to the 49ers’ zone coverage, and I’d expect at least one vertical target per half to stretch the defense.
Staff Picks, Best Bets & Props
Brock Purdy less than 1.5 passing TDs (-170)
Maldonado: The Eagles allow the lowest passing touchdown rate in the league. Vic Fangio’s defense squeezes red zone windows, forcing long drives and field goals. Purdy can move the ball, but finishing the ball in the air against this coverage profile will not be easy.
Saquon Barkley over 2.5 receptions (+102)
Loza: Barkley’s receiving yards have dried up during the season, which is why this bet is at plus odds. However, the 49ers’ defense may be exposed at another level. Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Pattulo will have to contain Barkley, especially against a team that invited the third-most targets to opposing RBs in 2025.
Christian McCaffrey over 45.5 receiving yards (-110)
moody: McCaffrey has not been a major factor in the passing game for San Francisco recently, failing to clear the line in each of his last five games. However, he still exceeded 45.5 receiving yards in 10 of 17 games this season and averaged 7.6 targets per contest. McCaffrey has also drawn a favorable matchup against an Eagles defense that has allowed the running back the fifth-most receiving yards per game.

loza’s recommendations
Captain (Score 1.5x Fantasy Points): AJ Brown ($14,100)Despite the early season drama, Brown remains Hearts’ best playmaker and the team’s goals leader, having made 123 looks (WR11) from Weeks 1 to 17, Brown figures to be heavily involved against an achievable 49ers secondary,
Also in my lineup: george kittel ($8,600)The Eagles’ defense is number one against tight ends, but Kittle is no ordinary tight end, assuming that Ricky Pearsall (Knee/Ankle) sits, the volume should remain bent in favor of the kettle. Looking at pricing, Kittle’s talent makes him an interesting value selection.
Maldonado’s recommendations
Captain (Score 1.5x Fantasy Points): Jalen Hurts ($16,800) His pocket can be cleaned out against a 49ers defense that ranks among the lowest in pressures and sack rate. Even without the spike week, Hurts’ passing volume and red zone involvement give him a steady floor.
Also in my lineup: Saquon Barkley ($10,000) Will benefit from Philly’s preferred game script, which favors heavy home runs. The 49ers’ linebacker injuries favored extended drives.
