Frisco, Texas — The dallas cowboys will be without a cornerback trayvon diggs against on sunday Washington Commanders He was placed in concussion protocol after an accident at his home on Thursday.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer did not have details of what happened, but team doctors examined Diggs on Friday.
“This is the NFL and if you’re unsure what’s going to happen just wait because something is going to happen,” Schottenheimer said. “And you deal with it, and you don’t lose sleep over it. The biggest thing is worrying about Trayvon is that he’s OK. But it looks like he’s OK.”
Diggs has started every game since spending training camp on the physically disabled list following surgery on his left knee in January. He has been struggling with a right knee injury in recent weeks. He was credited with 20 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 2 pass deflections.

Given the struggles of the Cowboys’ defense – last in yards per game and 31st in points per game – losing a decorated cornerback doesn’t bode well. The Cowboys have talked about changes they will make this week, including more man-to-man coverage, a strength of Diggs.
“It doesn’t change,” Schottenheimer said. “We always make adjustments when you come into game day, but that doesn’t change. It’s a good plan. I like the plan. We’ve got to go out and execute the plan. It’s going to be up to us to go out and play well against a really good Commanders offense.”
