Miami – Shane Bieber Over six major innings of one run ball in his debut blue Jays Friday night, helped defeat Toronto Miami marlins 5-2 After Bieber spent 16 months away from the mound.
“Today, all this had a gratitude for my family and my aid team for a long road that keeps me walking every day,” Bieber said. “Just great to share this moment with them.”
This was Bieber’s first major league appearance since April 2, 2024, when he experienced the inconvenience of the elbow and had to undergo Tommy John surgery.
The right-handed batsman allowed two hits and hit a batsman in his 87-pitch outing. He retired directly after permission Xavier SanojaSolo Homer in the second innings.
“For me, I think since Pitch 1, it was back to what I liked to do,” Bieber said. “The bus fell right in the rhythm and was happy how it all went away. Happy to run on the ground and continued to lay one leg in front of the other.”
Bieber threw 55 pitches for the strike. His pitch breakdown made a lot of rely on a mixture of 26 four-seam fastball and 25 sliders, which helped inspire 15 swing-ends.
“Falling into a rhythm is a large part of pitching,” Bieber said. “I was able to do this very quickly with my fastball and then through the order for the second time, the spin picked up. Overall, how it happened tonight.”

Prior to the game, Toronto manager John Schneider indicated that Bieber was determined to throw around 100 pitches for his return, but was satisfied with the final clan.
“I think it’s a good outing for him,” said Schneider. “I am happy for Shane. This is a long road to come back here.”

“I’m doing with my rehabilitation, and I am to compete here and win,” Bieber said.
Bieber, 30, spent his first seven seasons with Cleveland. In the 60-Game 2020 season, he finished 8–1 with League-Lo 1.63 ERA and led AL in a strike with 122.
